Classical pianist
Lefteris
Gavalas.
Timeless music. A personal voice.
A familiar score.
An entirely new moment.
“I believe that every great work contains a world of its own. My role as a pianist is to enter that world and invite the listener inside.”
“My greatest aspiration is simple: to play with enough honesty that the listener forgets there is a pianist between them and the music.”
Lefteris Gavalas was born in Athens, Greece, and developed a deep passion for music from an early age. In December 2025, he graduated with the highest honors from the Schola Cantorum de Paris, earning the Diplôme de Concertiste under the guidance of the internationally respected pianist and pedagogue Agathe Leimoni. In June 2025, he received his Piano Diploma from the Hellenic Conservatory of Athens, graduating Άριστα Παμψηφεί (Unanimous Highest Distinction) with First Prize and Gold Medal.
He has performed in notable venues in Greece and abroad, including the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, the National Archaeological Museum and Numismatic Museum of Athens, the Aloni Theatre in Pelion, the Auditorium San Domenico in Foligno, Italy, and Kasteel d’Ursel in Hingene, Belgium, as part of Primavera Pianistica 2024. He has also performed at the Syggrou Amphitheater on Poros in connection with the 12th, 13th, and 14th editions of the Anastasios Leimonis International Summer Academy and Piano Festival.
Lefteris has participated in masterclasses with distinguished pianists including Lilia Boyadjieva, Marina Pliassova, Borislava Taneva, Massimiliano Ferrati, Rafael Salinas, Raquel Boldorini, and Thanasis Apostolopoulos. His artistic activities have also been recognized through awards and distinctions in national and international piano competitions.
Alongside his performance studies, Lefteris studies Musicology at the Department of Music Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with particular interests in music aesthetics, musicology, and the relationship between music and culture. He also holds a Diploma in Harmony and Music Theory, having studied under Eleni Anagnostopoulou.
With a foundation that combines advanced piano training with academic study, Lefteris approaches music as both an artistic and intellectual pursuit. He continues to expand his repertoire and artistic horizons through performance, further study, and new opportunities for musical collaboration and artistic expression.
